We believe that surrounding yourself with positive, passionate, and powerful women is a key to growing a successful business as well as providing lifelong connections and endless opportunities for personal and professional growth. We encourage and support each other in our professional and personal endeavors.
Mission Statement
To bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.
History
Katy Charter Chapter was chartered in October 1994 and was the first ABWA chapter in Katy.
On Sept. 22, 1949, Hilary Bufton Jr. and three Kansas City businesswomen incorporated the American Business Women’s Association, and the American workforce was changed forever. Hilary Bufton Jr recognized the positive impact women had made in the post World War II economy. He later wrote: “It was my feeling all women were seeking and deserved equal business opportunities.”
